However, for Nauval Muhammad Firdaus (21), his persistence primarily determines his success."Success is no accident. Nauval is one of Bangkit 2022 Distinction Graduates. He earned several achievements after graduating from this program, and his success allowed him to share his story through a valedictorian speech at Bangkit 2022 Graduation. Nevertheless, Nauval did encounter obstacles while pursuing his goals before he seized it all. Let’s know more about Nauval!
Going to University was the Last Thing Nauval Could Think Of
Having numerous outstanding accomplishments, Nauval is just the eldest child of a simple family in Jepara, Central Java. His father is a carpenter, and his mother is a housewife. Nauval’s younger brother and sister are still in school. They look up to their older brother as a role model. The hope that Nauval’s family put in him made him eager to try his best in everything.
Coming from a modest family made Nauval think college was not a priority. However, he wanted to launch his career soon so he could help his parents financially. Therefore, Nauval decided to attend SMK Raden Umar Said, majoring in Software Engineering. Apparently, in this vocational school, Nauval obtained many achievements.
SMK Raden Umar Said actively included Nauval in various competitions. As a result, he was sent to study programming in Singapore and became one of the students who participated in an exchange program in Japan. These accomplishments led Nauval to take part in the BIFEST 2018 competition at Universitas Bina Nusantara. This competition changed Nauval’s life.
Creating 3D works was actually unrelated to the discipline that Nauval studied. However, it opened Nauval’s eyes to one thing.
Nauval admitted that his success was seized because of his persistence in learning and giving his best and the learning material he got in Bangkit. In addition, the capstone project that he regarded as a training ground also immensely helped his triumph.

The Pandemic that Brought Nauval and Bangkit Together
Nauval opened a new chapter as a freshman at Universitas Bina Nusantara smoothly. Soon afterward, the pandemic hit and financially tumbled Nauval’s family down. The sales of Nauval’s father’s furniture dramatically went down. It pushed Nauval to earn extra money by becoming a Freelance 3D Modelling Artist. He wanted to restore his family’s economic condition.
Creating 3D works was actually unrelated to the discipline that Nauval studied. However, it opened Nauval’s eyes to one thing.
“Having many kinds of competencies and good adaptability is necessary because the IT realm is very dynamic. For that reason, I realized that to become an excellent digital talent; I must gain more experience and insights by joining Bangkit 2022, particularly in the Mobile Development (Android) learning path.”
For more than 900 hours, Nauval obtained abundant experience in learning Android, equipped with English and soft skills. He enjoyed his learning journey in Bangkit because of its well-structured curriculum and its facilitators, who created an unforgettable studying experience. Moreover, in Bangkit, Nauval managed to acquire other achievements.
“I couldn’t believe that I successfully graduated from Bangkit 2022 with distinction and was certified as Google Associate Android Developer. After that, I was also hired as a Software Engineer in Trainee at AccelByte Inc, a company that provides services for live game backend platform and trusted by many international game developers such as Warner Bros.”
